Friends of Wellspring
Come alongside this group of faithful Methodists as we plant a new Methodist church in Gluckstadt!
THE STORY
We are a church body of about 150 people who are blessed with a burden to plant a faithful Methodist Church in the fast-growing city of Gluckstadt, MS. We began strategic planning, dedicating ourselves to prayer, and worshipping together regularly in the Fall 2023 in a temporary location (Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Bozeman Rd).
For the first few months of worshipping together, we relied on faithful preachers and pastors from the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition for pulpit supply while our charter members legally established the church and began to build its ministry programs all while seeking a full-time pastor.
In late 2023 and early 2024, God led Matt Ayars (and his wife Stacey) to join Wellspring Church as the full-time pastor.
THE VISION
The God-given vision of our church is to be a faithful Methodist church that is bold about the inspiration and authority of the Bible, enthusiastic about the holy love of God, and committed to life together that is transformed by Jesus through the Holy Spirit.
Furthermore, God has clearly led us to serve the city of Gluckstadt (Madison County), which is one of the fastest growing cities in the state of Mississippi, and currently without a Methodist church.
THE NEED
In order to move to Sunday morning services in Gluckstadt, we need our own place of worship.
In the early months of 2024, God led us to a new steel building with an unfinished interior at 418 Business Park Drive in Gluckstadt. After much prayer and deliberation, we strongly believe that this is the location that God has designated as our new church home.
