The name “Wellspring” is rooted in scripture and captures two central values at the heart of the congregation: (1) the Word of God, and (2) the Holy Spirit. 

As for the Scriptures, Psalm 1 is the inspiration for the name. In Psalm 1, the healthy tree is planted beside streams of water. In that imagery, the tree is the healthy Christian and the Bible is the water. In the case of our congregation, the tree is a healthy church because of its devotion and love for the Bible as the inspired Word of God. 

John 7 is the inspiration for the name as relates to the Holy Spirit. In John 7, Jesus speaks to the crowds and says, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believe him were to receive…

In sum, Wellspring Church is a congregation of believers who are redeemed by Jesus, formed by the Word of God, and filled with the Holy Spirit.
