Wednesday's Word
Dear Wellspring,
Matt has one final day of teaching at West Africa Theological Seminary in Nigeria, and then he and Sofie will begin the long trek home late Thursday night. Thank you for your ongoing prayers!
When Matt first arrived in Nigeria, a student had asked if Matt would be willing to preach in his church. Matt remembered sharing with Wellspring recently that we should always be ready to pray, ready to preach and ready to die. So, he said he’d be willing if it was helpful, but never heard another word about it. Sunday morning at exactly 8 am, Matt and Sofie awoke to a pounding on their bedroom door.
“Pastor Matt? Are you ready? It is time!”
“Time for WHAT?” Matt wondered.
Turns out, Matt WAS preaching Sunday morning at the New Life Global Methodist Church in Lagos, a service that started at 8 am!
What a joy it was for he and Sofie to worship (with sleep still in their eyes 🙂 with our brothers and sisters there, and what a joy it was for us to worship with our Mustard Seed and Wellspring brothers and sisters here! He truly has the whole world in His hands, and is on the throne.
Thank you for praying on for their travels, and Matt is really looking forward to being back with us Sunday. Meanwhile, I’ll see you this Wellspring Wednesday for Bible study (with Tom Halford!), youth group and Kids Club!
By His Grace,
Stacey
