Acts 6 Bible Study: Holiness, Servant Leadership, and the Growing Church

In this Wednesday night Bible study, we explore Acts 6 and the growing pains of the early church. As the number of disciples increases, new tensions emerge—especially around care for widows, cultural differences within the church, and the need for wise, Spirit-filled leadership. This passage shows us that church growth is a gift, but it also brings challenges that require unity, humility, and shared responsibility.

Before turning to Acts 6, we also reflect on the holiness of God and what true holiness means for the Christian life. Holiness is not mere legalism or outward rule-keeping. It is the Spirit-formed life of perfect love—love for God and love for neighbor—that gives believers real power to bear witness in the world.

This study highlights the importance of compassion, servant leadership, the ministry of the Word, and the church’s call to welcome people who may not look, think, or act like us. It also introduces Stephen as a faithful servant full of grace, wisdom, and power, preparing us for his bold witness in Acts 7.

Join us as we consider what it means to be a holy people, a unified church, and a faithful witness in a world that resists the truth of the gospel.
