Wednesday's Word
Dear Wellspring Family,
As we step into a new year together, I want to begin by wishing each of you a joyful and hope-filled New Year. I am deeply grateful for you and for the life we share as a church.
Looking back on 2025, one truth stands out clearly: God has been faithful. He has guided us, sustained us, provided for us, and continued to shape us into a people rooted in his grace and love. And as we look ahead, we do so with confidence that the same God who was faithful in 2025 will be faithful again in 2026.
As we enter this new year, I want to share the strategic priorities that will guide Wellspring in 2026:
First, evangelism and outreach. We believe God calls us not only to gather, but to go—to share the good news of Jesus with our neighbors, our community, and those who may feel far from God.
Second, discipleship. Our desire is to grow deeper as followers of Jesus, learning what it means to walk faithfully with him in every area of life and to help one another mature in faith.
Third, excellence in worship. We want everything we offer to God—our prayers, our singing, our preaching, our service—to reflect our love for him and our gratitude for who he is.
To help set the tone for this year, we will begin 2026 with a sermon series on the book of Jonah. Jonah reminds us, sometimes uncomfortably, why sharing our faith is essential to the Christian life and calling. It challenges us to examine our hearts and to rediscover God’s deep love for the world.
Alongside this, we will be starting a Bible study series on the book of Acts. Acts helps us remember what the church is, why it exists, what our mission in the world truly is, and what it means to worship God as a Spirit-filled community sent into the world.
I am excited about what God has in store for us in the coming year. Thank you for your faithfulness, your prayers, your generosity, and your commitment to the mission God has given Wellspring. I look forward to walking into 2026 together, trusting God and following where he leads.
Grace and peace to you in the New Year,
Matt Ayars
