Pentecost Sunday

Pentecost Sunday celebrates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the early church, as recorded in Acts 2. Fifty days after Easter, followers of Jesus were gathered together when the Spirit came with power—like a rushing wind and tongues of fire—filling them and enabling them to proclaim the gospel in ways that people from every nation could understand. Pentecost marks the birth of the church as a Spirit-empowered community, sent into the world to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
This day reminds us that the Christian life is not meant to be lived in our own strength. The same Holy Spirit who filled the first believers now lives within all who follow Christ—guiding, transforming, and empowering us for faithful living. Pentecost is about more than a moment in history; it is about the ongoing presence of God with His people, equipping us to love boldly, serve faithfully, and witness courageously.
As we celebrate Pentecost, we are invited to open our lives more fully to the work of the Spirit. It is a call to renewed dependence on God, a deeper experience of His presence, and a fresh commitment to His mission. Whether you are exploring faith or have walked with Christ for years, Pentecost is an invitation to live a Spirit-filled life—one marked by power, purpose, and participation in what God is doing in the world.
