Faithful Witnesses: Honoring Our Saints

(90+ Ministry)

At Wellspring Church, we believe that faithfulness over a lifetime is one of the greatest testimonies to the goodness of God. Scripture repeatedly calls the people of God to honor elders—not merely for their age, but for their wisdom, perseverance, and enduring trust in the Lord.

The Faithful Witnesses program exists to intentionally honor and celebrate members of our church family who are 90 years of age and older. These saints among us have walked with Christ through decades of joy, hardship, change, and growth. Their lives bear witness to God’s faithfulness across generations, and their stories are a gift to the whole church.

This program is not simply about recognition—it is about gratitude, remembrance, and learning. We want to say “thank you” for lives well lived, while also creating space for these faithful disciples to bless the church by sharing what they have learned along the way.

What This Program Includes

Faithful Witnesses is an ongoing ministry that will:

  • Publicly honor our 90+ members in meaningful and dignified ways

  • Preserve and share their stories of faith for future generations

  • Invite the congregation to learn from their wisdom and testimony

  • Express the church’s gratitude for their lifelong faithfulness

Each honoree will be recognized in ways that reflect their comfort level, health, and desire to participate.

Why This Matters

In a culture that often values novelty over faithfulness, the church bears witness to a different story. We believe that longevity in faith matters. Perseverance matters. Quiet obedience matters.

As the psalmist writes, “They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green” (Psalm 92:14). Honoring our elders reminds us all that the Christian life is not a sprint, but a long, grace-filled journey.
