Wellspring Kids 2026 Strategic Plan

Mission Statement

To partner with families in forming children who know, love, and follow Jesus by providing a safe, welcoming, and Spirit-filled environment where children are rooted in Scripture, built up in faith, and empowered to live out the gospel.

Vision Statement

To become a thriving, disciple-making ministry where every child experiences the love of Jesus, every parent is equipped to nurture faith at home, and every volunteer is empowered to lead with excellence—resulting in spiritual formation that shapes a generation for Christ.

Core Values

  • Christ-Centered Formation: Teaching children to know and follow Jesus in age-appropriate ways.
  • Excellence in Safety and Hospitality: Creating safe, structured, and welcoming environments.
  • Family Partnership: Equipping and encouraging parents to be the primary faith-shapers.
  • Intentional Discipleship: Cultivating habits of worship, Scripture engagement, and prayer.
  • Leadership Development: Investing in and multiplying servant-hearted leaders.

Strategic Goals and Initiatives

Goal 1: Strengthen Program Quality (Spiritual Depth and Curriculum)

Description

This goal strengthens the spiritual depth and quality of Wellspring Kids by establishing a unified, gospel-centered approach to teaching and discipleship. In the short term, all age levels will adopt a consistent curriculum and volunteers will be fully trained in safety and spiritual formation. Over time, a clear discipleship pathway from preschool through preteen years will guide spiritual growth, while Family Faith Nights will equip parents to lead and nurture faith at home.

Goal 1 Initiatives
  • Launch a unified, gospel-centered curriculum across all age levels (e.g., Orange, The Gospel Project).
  • Implement a volunteer training and onboarding system with quarterly refreshers.
  • Launch quarterly Family Faith Nights to equip parents with tools for spiritual leadership.

Goal 2: Expand Program Reach (Attendance Growth, Outreach, Inclusion)

Description

This goal focuses on expanding the reach and impact of Wellspring Kids through intentional outreach, hospitality, and inclusive ministry. In the short term, targeted community events and a clear follow-up process will help welcome and care for new families. Over the mid-term, program capacity will grow through expanded service offerings and the introduction of special-needs support. Long-term, this vision looks toward facility expansion or additional ministry sites, with the aim of establishing Wellspring Kids as a trusted, leading children’s ministry in the region.

Goal 2 Initiatives
  • Launch a targeted outreach plan for families in the community (e.g., VBS, Back-to-School Bash).
  • Develop a follow-up system for first-time guests with parent touchpoints and care.
  • Add a second service Kids Ministry offering to accommodate growth.
  • Introduce special-needs support and inclusive programming for diverse learners.

Goal 3: Build a Thriving Volunteer Culture

Description

This goal centers on building a healthy, sustainable volunteer culture by recruiting, developing, and empowering leaders at every level. In the short term, intentional vision casting and clear pathways to serve will grow and stabilize the volunteer base. Over the mid-term, a tiered leadership structure and regular retreats will cultivate spiritual maturity, skill development, and team cohesion. Long-term, this vision invests deeply in leadership multiplication through formal training pathways and equipping volunteers to lead discipleship and evangelism beyond the Sunday classroom.

Goal 3 Initiatives
  • Recruit and retain 30% more volunteers through vision casting, shadowing opportunities, and clear role descriptions.
  • Launch a “Serve One, Worship One” campaign to encourage Sunday Committment.
  • Develop a tiered leadership structure (Coaches, Coordinators, Classroom Leaders).
  • Offer two leadership retreats annually for training, spiritual growth, and team-building.
