Wednesday's Word
Happy New Year!
May this new season be full of work, waiting on Him and worship! Worship is simply giving God the best that He has given you.
“Be careful what you do with the best you have” O Chambers says. “Whenever God blesses you, give it back to Him as a love-gift. Offering our blessings back to Him is a deliberate act of worship. If we hoard His blessings, they will turn into spiritual dry rot, as the manna did when it was hoarded in Exodus 16. God never gives us spiritual blessings completely for ourselves. Give it back to Him so that He can make it a blessing to others!”
What grace, what peace, what time, what relationship, what skill, what provision, what experience has He blessed you with coming into this new year? Join me in looking for ways to give it back to Him!
Sometimes, like in Jonah’s case, He’ll ask us again and again (though we may not like where His persistence takes us!). But often, He will move on from our “no thanks, this is mine” to an open-handed, abandoned person. Who knows what future growth and blessing we will miss when God moves on from asking us!?
There is always plenty of time to say YES to God! May He meet us in our worship today.
Pastor Matt
