Sermon Description
What does it mean when the Holy Spirit convicts us? Is conviction the same as guilt or shame? In this message from John 16, we explore the Holy Spirit’s vital work of conviction in the life of every believer. Before God transforms us, He first softens our hearts and lovingly reveals the areas where we are missing the mark.
Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would come as our Helper, convicting us concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. This sermon examines how conviction is not meant to condemn us, but to heal us, restore our relationships, and conform us to the image of Christ. We also look at sins of commission, sins of omission, the role of our emotions, and why repentance is an essential part of the Christian life.
God does not expose our sin to crush us. He reveals it one step at a time because He is gracious, trustworthy, and desires our freedom. The question is: will we allow the Holy Spirit to shine His light into the hidden places of our hearts?
